How Abstract Recruitment Ltd works to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking across our business and supply chains.
Modern slavery, or any other form of labour exploitation, has no place in our organisation or our supply chain. We are committed to taking the necessary steps to identify and address these risks. Where we find that exploitation is occurring, we want to ensure that victims receive the support they require.
We believe that the most effective way to tackle modern slavery is to collaborate with our clients, supply chain partners and other stakeholders. We will look for opportunities to share our learning and to learn from others.
To support our learning and gain access to updated information and resources, we have registered on the Stronger Together website.
In addition, we are committed to the Employer Pays Principle, which states that:
“No worker should pay for a job – the costs of recruitment should be borne not by the worker, but by the employer.”
This principle is reflected in our policies and practices.
Our Director leads our work on modern slavery at Board level, while the Fulfilment Director manages the implementation and reporting of our modern slavery work.
We are developing our systems, policies and processes to ensure that we have an effective framework through which our workers, staff members and supply chain partners are clear about our expectations and are supported in raising their awareness and understanding of this challenging and sensitive issue.
Should an incident of modern slavery be identified within our organisation or supply chain, we will cooperate with the relevant authorities and support any further investigations.
We will seek to understand whether we have caused or contributed to the exploitation. If this is found to be the case, we will seek to engage with the victim or victims, using independent facilitation where appropriate, to explore what remediation is required and how this can best be achieved.
It is our intention to take effective measures to tackle the risk of modern slavery and to continuously develop our approach to meet new and emerging challenges.
